StoreCart offers 3 ways to add products to your shop.
1. Add Single Product
To Add one product at a time follow the below steps.
Step 1: From the StoreCart admin panel, click on ?Products?, and then click on ?Add Product?.
Step 2: Under ?Basic Information? , add product details like Product Name, Category, Short Description, Description (detailed), Product Price, and Selling Price or Discounted Price (Mandatory).
Step 3: [Optional] Add ?Taxation? detail; Tax Rate and HSN Code.
Note: In case product price is inclusive of taxes, then leave the tax rate field blank.
Step 4: Add ?Inventory? details; Available Quantity, minimum & maximum add to cart quantity, Add to cart quantity (order increase quantity) and SKU No.
Step 5: [Optional] Add ?Variant?. This section helps you to add product variants to a product that has more than one option, such as size or color.
- Add Main Product
- Variant Title like Size, Color, Weight
- Variant Value like S, M, XL or Pink, Green or 500g, 1Kg
- Variant Rank: Set the position of the variant
Step 6: [Optional] Click on ?Product Fields?. You can create custom product fields to add extra details relevant to your product.
Step 7: Click on ?Product Images? to add images. Click on ?edit icon? to upload the main image and to add additional image, just drag and drop extra images of a product.
You can also add a YouTube Video embed link of your product. Example:
Step 8: [Optional] Add ?SEO Tags?. Enter Permalink, Page Title, Page Keywords,and Page Description to improve SEO performance of your website.
Adding details of multiple products can be time-consuming in case you have hundreds of them. That?s why bulk import products are the greatest feature to the rescue. Now you can add information about multiple products, set prices, describe products, HSN, SKU, barcode, origin and upload all in one go.
To bulk import products, go to ?Products?, click on ?Import Products? and you get a 3 step process to start with:
Step 1: Download the Excel sheet below to fill in your product information.
- If you are uploading the products for the first time, Click on ?Download Empty? to get an empty template sheet (excel) with predefined columns to fill.
- If you have already uploaded some products (single or via product grid), Click on ?Download with Products? to get a pre-filled template sheet with your shop products.
- Once you have added all the products in the excel sheet, Click on ?Continue? for the next step.
To add your products please follow the below guidelines:
- Make sure the Product Code (SKU Code) is unique for each item.
- Product photos should be by the name of ProductCode.jpg.
- When uploading a sheet, a new Product will be inserted if code is not found, otherwise it will update existing.
Step 2: Upload the updated excel sheet to your shop.
- Click on ?Attach File?.
- Select the file to be uploaded.
- Click on ?Upload Now? to finally upload the products for your eCommerce website.
- Click on ?Continue? for the last step.
Step 3: Upload your product photos here.
- Before you upload the product images, kindly name your product photos as ?ProductCode.jpg?. If you have more than one photo of your products, you can name them as ProductCode__1.jpg, ProductCode__2.jpg etc.
Please Note: There are 2 underscores after the ProductCode in above point. - Now to upload the product images, either drag or select the photos from your device and images will be updated on your product pages.
- You can also add colored watermark, control opacity of the watermark & add margins to your products.
- Click on ?Done? & your products have been uploaded.
StoreCart offers an easy way to manage all products using an in-built product grid feature. This helps you to add new products or make quick changes in your product details.
Follow the below steps to use Product Grid:
Step 1: Under the Product section, click on ?Product Grid?.
Step 2: From the ?Columns?, Select the type of fields that are important for you to add in a product details
Step 3: Add details in the grid such as product name, selling price, product price, Available quantity, and more. Click on ?Save all Changes? to save your edits.
Step 4: Add Product images in bulk as explained in the Bulk Upload method or you can add images one by one in the product grid itself.
You can use custom product fields to add various product details about your products. For example, a candle maker might choose to display a burn time on product pages, while a grocery store may want to show the date at which products expire.
There are 2 ways to add custom fields for your products,
Option 1-
- Go to Products.
- Click on ?Edit? under the Actions tab of any one product.
- Go to Product Fields and click on Add Product Field.
- Add Name of Custom Field and its type (for eg., text, email, phone, dropdown or multi-select)
- If you select dropdown or multi-select, then add options for the same as well, otherwise click on save and the custom field is created.
- Now you can add the values for the field in product details.
Option 2-
- Under ?Products? section, click on ?Product Fields? in the sub-section.
- Click on ?Add Product Fields?
- Add Name of Custom Field and its type (for eg., text, email, phone, dropdown or multiselect)
- If you select dropdown or multi-select, then add options for the same as well, otherwise click on save and the custom field is created.
- Now you can add the values for the field in product details.
Adding variants is a way to provide variety to a product line that features multiple choices, such as Color or Size. You may create brand-new variants or update existing ones for any product that features multiple choices. You can view the variants for a given product on its product detail page. For example, if you sell T-shirts in small, medium, and large sizes, you can create them in a single product.
To add variants for your products, go to Products and,
Step 1: Click on ?Edit? under the Actions tab of any one product.
Step 2: Go to Variants in the sub-menu.
Step 3: Select the parent product for which you want to add the variant.
Step 4: Input the Variant Title (eg: Color, Size, Material, etc).
Step 5: Add the Variant Value (eg: Black, Small, Cotton, etc).
Step 6: Add the Variant Rank (It’s the position of the product variant to show in the product page, eg: Main = 1, Variant A = 2, and so on).
Step 7: Click on ?Save All Changes? and the Variant will get added to your product.
Group the products to be bought together to create bundles. This will help to improve conversion rate and make the purchase process much more profitable.
Make sure that the products that you are selling are related to each other. You can create a bundle of different products based on your online sales. For example, you can create a bundle of a mug, tea bag, and a tea kettle. The products that you sell must have a similar use to increase the chances of sales.
To create product bundles, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to the ?Products? section.
Step 2: Click on ?Product Bundles? in the sub-menu.
Step 3: Click on ?Add Product Bundle?.
Step 4: Add a ?Name? for your bundle. Select Product 1, Product 2 and Product 3 that you want to showcase to your customers to sell together as bundles.
Step 5: Click on ?Save?.
Add a youtube video for a detailed product description. This will help your visitors to know about your products better, increase their buying decisions and also help search engines to understand its importance in your website.
You can also create a review video on youtube and add it to the product page.
To add a youtube video for a particular product, go to Products, and,
Step 1: Go to the Product Images subsection.
Step 2: Add the link in the Youtube Video Link field. Click on ?Save All Changes?.
Preview the product in store to view the video on the product page.
Inventory is the quantity of a particular product that is available for sale in your store.
Managing your inventory can help you with the following:
- Prevent selling more stock than you have stored.
- Identify when you have to order the next stock for bulk orders or produce more products.
- Recognize when you have extra stock.
You can view and manage your inventory in your StoreCart admin portal:
Step 1: Go to the ?Products? section and click on ?Products Inventory ?.
Step 2: Add/Update inventory column ie. ?Available Qty?. Click on ?Save all Changes?.
Settings for Shop Inventory
Additionally, you can show/hide inventory to your customers and also add multiple settings for
your Shop:
Step 1: Go to ?Settings?.
Step 2: Click on ?Shop Settings? and go to ?Inventory? in the sub-section.
Step 3: Now Edit settings like:
- Show Available Quantity: To Hide or Show product quantity to the customers.
- Restrict Purchase of Out of Stock items: If enabled, customers will not be able to purchase an out of stock.
- Out of Stock Notify Me Button Text: If you add text, a button next to Out of Stock will appear with which customers can get Notify when that particular item is restocked.
- Out of Stock Text: You can edit the text of out of stock such as Sold Out, You Missed It, Restocking Soon and more.
Note: To make the changes quick and in real-time, all the settings are auto saved.
